1605.1 CRAZY MILES AWAY!

With the car packed to the top, and our hearts ready to go, we were off! Our Adventure began only to our knowledge in the beautiful mountains of Utah! We will miss these gorgeous windmills...

We are starting to miss the green mountains already. Look at the beautiful trees!
Smiling the whole way! It was great bonding time, lots to talk about, learn more about each other, and have fun laughing and telling jokes. What a fun adventure we are on and we aren't even 1/4 of the way there... haha

MOAB!!!

We stopped at this darling little cottage, because this was where we spent our first night of our honeymoon! Such a cute little place.

WE HAVE MADE IT TO THE BEAUTIFUL FIELDS OF COLORADO!

Colorado was so pretty. Three weeks ago when we drove through here they had just been planted, now they are six inch tall crops absolutely gorgeous!

We are past Colorado and 1/2 way through New Mexico, it's about time that we are ready to stop for the day. We are just exhausted. Driving for 12 hours ready for a good nights rest. New Mexico you are never ending... ugh.

GOOD MORNING!!! Day #2, our hotel was so nice, and breakfast was delicious, look how big my banana is!! Almost as big as my fist. Oh my goodness it was good.

We don't know the occasion but look at the pretty hot air balloon on this gorgeous morning.

We loved @25 street, sure was fun.

We are 5 miles from the TEXAS border and we had to stop at this cool gas station, dad these pictures are for you! Such neat stuff.

Rows and rows of antiques. Holy cow.

Could you imagine me driving this?

Go cart cars. So cute!

M&M wall this one was so fun to look at.

Barbie diner.

It's the Beatles.

These little trucks cover the walls of this cute diner, and gas station. I am amazed at the collection they have.
TEXAS!!! We have made it through "Hill Billy Hell" aka New Mexico. We survived drunk highway... barely.
Well the entire time through Texas we were listening for weather reports in Oklahoma. My family kept us updated with things they could see, and look at this. Boy we had no idea what we were getting into.

This storm cloud was 12 miles away from us, and 4 tornadoes touched the ground. Hail was the size of softballs, 80,000 people were without power, and flooding was extensive. James and I turned around and headed away from the tornadoes to find a place to stay for the night. I have never in my life seen clouds funnel but I can tell you for sure I never want to see it again....

This was in the morning paper we got from the hotel to read. So true, our prayers are with the Oklahoma people.

This is some of the damage on our way into El Reno, NM where the tornado hit.

Flooding was crazy.

This building has no roof, and all their light poles and telephone lines were laying down.

So much debris on the side of the highway. Trees just shredded.

This picture isn't the best but it has a really neat story behind it. This little house is now gone, but outside helping this small family clean up were bright yellow shirts that read, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I thought it was neat. But little did I know that this picture would appear on my facebook page hours later. One of my dear friends from high school is on a mission in OK. He was one of the young men in that bright yellow shirt helping this family. Way to go Elder Benson! Way to go.

Construction had us stopped for about an hour. This was our view! Oh and not to mention the lady behind us who squatted and peed. Oh dear!
(Forgive the picture it wasn't taken right in Arkansas this is New Mexico but it helps tell the story). James loves sunflower seeds (as do I) and while his cheek was full he sneezed right into the cup where he put the shells. Well next thing you know the whole car is covered in confetti falling sunflower seeds. We laughed so hard! Thanks James for the good memory.

It's green here that's for sure! We have finally made it to Arkansas.

I love this bridge!

Look where we are now!!!

Not long after we see our FAVORITE sign. My butt hurts from sitting!

Some serious rain has hit the south. Hope Grandma hasn't washed away. We stopped at Hernando MS to get a bite to eat at James (and my new) favorite restaurant. Zaxby's! Best chicken you'll ever eat, and their banana milkshakes you haven't lived til you have had one. (Don't tell James this but maybe it was so good because I was sick of sunflower seeds and trail mix, we might just have to try it out again). We made it safe and sound, we are exhausted but happy to be here. Miss you all! LOVE YOU LOTS!!!! XOXOX from the new Hill Billies!
